Biography
Francis Jacobson is a respected community leader, youth development advocate, public servant, and leadership consultant committed to helping students, families, and communities thrive. His professional and community service record reflects a lifelong dedication to empowering people, developing future leaders, and creating opportunities for success.
Currently serving as a Police Officer with Virginia Peninsula Community College, Francis works within an educational environment where student safety, well-being, and success remain top priorities. He also served as a United Nations Certified Crisis Resolution Specialist, bringing valuable experience in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and collaborative leadership.
As a leadership consultant and human capital development professional, Francis has worked with government agencies, private organizations, and community institutions to design programs that strengthen leadership, workforce readiness, and personal growth. His passion for youth development led him to establish initiatives such as the Impact Youth Foundation and Newport News for Young People Initiative, through which he has helped equip young people with mentorship, skills, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
A devoted husband, father of two, and active community servant, Francis understands firsthand the importance of strong schools, safe learning environments, and meaningful partnerships between educators, parents, and the community. Since making Newport News his home in 2018, he has remained committed to serving families and advocating for preventative measures to curb crimes among young people.
Francis Jacobson believes every student deserves access to quality education, supportive learning environments, and the opportunity to achieve their highest potential. He brings the leadership, experience, and commitment necessary to help shape a stronger future for Newport News schools.
